Terms & Conditions
These terms govern your use of this website and the free tools on it. They do not license the TruPriv platform, which is a separate agreement.
1. About TruPriv
TruPriv builds consent and privacy governance software for India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. In these terms “TruPriv”, “we” and “us” mean TruPriv; “you” means the person using this website.
2. Acceptance
By using this website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site. If you are using it for an organisation, you confirm you are entitled to accept on its behalf.
3. What this website provides
This site is informational. It offers:
- Explanatory writing about the DPDP Act and the DPDP Rules, and a glossary.
- Two free tools, an applicability checker and a readiness assessment, that run entirely in your browser.
- Descriptions of the TruPriv platform, and a way to contact us about it.
It does not provide access to the platform, an account, or any paid service. There is nothing to register for and nothing to buy here.
4. The tools and the writing are not legal advice
The DPDP hub, the glossary, the applicability checker and the readiness assessment are a structured reading of a statute, published to help you work out where to look. They are not legal advice, they do not create an advocate-client or advisory relationship, and they cannot account for sector regulation, contractual obligations or your specific facts. A result from either tool is an indication, not a determination, and it is not a defence. Take qualified advice before you act.
We take care to read the Act accurately, but we do not warrant that anything here is complete, current or correct, and the law and the Rules will change.
5. Product information
Product pages describe the platform as configured for a standard deployment, and some of what they describe is on the roadmap rather than shipped. Nothing on this site is a commitment to deliver a feature, on a date or at all. Where a page conflicts with an executed order form or agreement, the agreement governs.
6. Enquiries and applications
Sending an enquiry, subscribing to the newsletter or applying to the Early Access Partner Programme does not form a contract, does not oblige us to respond and does not entitle you to a place on the programme. We select partners at our discretion. Anything we tell you in reply is subject to a written agreement if it goes further.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Disrupt the site or attempt to gain access you have not been given.
- Scrape or automate against it at a volume that degrades it for other people, or bypass any rate limit or technical restriction.
- Present our material as issued or endorsed by someone else, or strip attribution from it.
- Use the site for anything unlawful.
Good-faith security research is welcome. If you find something, email contact@truprivai.com before disclosing it, and give us a reasonable chance to fix it.
8. Intellectual property
The text of the Act and the Rules belongs to the public and we claim nothing over it. Our explanatory writing, the tools and their scoring, the designs, the emblems and the code on this site belong to us. You may quote us with attribution and a link. You may not republish substantial parts, or reproduce the tools or their scoring, without written permission.
9. Privacy and data protection
How this website handles personal data is set out in the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy. In short: no analytics, no tracking, no cookies, and the free tools never transmit your answers to us.
10. Availability
This is a website, not a service you have bought. We make no uptime commitment for it and may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it, including the free tools, without notice.
11. Links to other sites
Where we link elsewhere, whether to the Act, to a regulator or to a professional profile, we do not control that destination and are not responsible for its content or its privacy practices.
12. Limitation of liability
The site and the tools are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind so far as the law permits. To the fullest extent the law permits, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, this site, including any decision taken on the basis of a tool result, a regulatory outcome, or loss of profit, data or goodwill. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud.
13. Indemnity
If your use of this site in breach of these terms causes a third-party claim against us, you will indemnify us against it.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The effective date at the top of this page changes when we do, and continuing to use the site after that means you accept the revision. Material changes will be described rather than slipped in.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the competent courts in India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
16. Contact
Questions about these terms go to contact@truprivai.com or through the contact page. Say that your message is about the terms and it will reach the right person.
